Betting Calculator Set for African Punters: Odds Converter, Accumulator Payout and Welcome Bonus Comparator

A betting calculator is only useful when it knows the local rule, and these three do. The accumulator tool applies the 5% Kenya withholds from a payout, the 15% Uganda and Tanzania take from net winnings and the 25% Zimbabwe keeps. The bonus comparator reads every brand's published terms for the country you pick.

Odds converter for decimal, fractional and American prices

The odds converter takes the decimal price every African sportsbook prints and returns the fractional and American forms, plus the chance the price implies before the bookmaker's margin. A price of 2.50 is 6/4, +150 and a 40% implied chance; a price of 1.25 is 1/4, -400 and 80%.

Decimal odds are standard across African sportsbooks. Type a price to see the fractional and American forms and the chance the price implies.

Two prices of 1.95 on one market add up to 102.6% of implied chance, and the bookmaker keeps the 2.6% above a hundred whichever side wins. A fair two-way market would sit at 2.00 and 2.00.

The accumulator calculator multiplies the odds of every leg, applies the stake and runs the result through the tax rule of the country you choose. A three-leg slip at 1.45, 1.60 and 1.80 pays 4.18 times the stake.

In Ghana the whole return arrives, in Uganda 15% of the profit is withheld, in Kenya 5% of the payout.

Welcome bonus comparator by country and deposit

Welcome bonus comparator by country and deposit: map of the African betting markets covered

The welcome bonus comparator ranks every brand with published terms in a country by the bonus it credits on the deposit you enter, and prints the stakes needed to release it. A KSh 5,000 deposit in Kenya earns KSh 10,000 at Melbet against KSh 5,000 at 22Bet.

Melbet's bonus then needs KSh 80,000 of 2.10 accumulators; 22Bet's needs KSh 25,000 at 1.40.

    Welcome bonus comparator by country

Choose a country and a first deposit. Every brand with published terms there is ranked by the bonus it credits, with the stakes needed to release it.

A brand drops to zero when the deposit sits below its published minimum: a ₦1,000 deposit in Nigeria unlocks Melbet's offer and leaves 1xBet's, with its ₦1,700 floor, at nothing.

Betting tax rules the calculators apply

Betting tax at the punter's end is the rule set behind the accumulator tool. Kenya charges 5% excise on each deposit and withholds 5% of payouts. Uganda, Tanzania and Malawi withhold 15% of winnings, Zimbabwe 25%, Lagos State 5% of net winnings.

Zambia charges a 5% levy on deposits and withdrawals, Cameroon 1% on transfers.

Ghana removed its 10% withholding on 2 April 2025, Botswana's Income Tax Act, 2026 sets none, and SARS leaves a South African recreational punter's winnings alone. The country-by-country table on the best betting sites home page links each rule to its source, and every country page carries its own payout calculator, from Kenya and Uganda to Cameroon.

    Questions about the betting calculators

Questions about the betting calculators: payout slip for a Namibia bet showing stake, odds and tax

How does the accumulator calculator apply tax?

It multiplies the odds of every leg, works out the gross return and applies the chosen country's rule. Kenya takes a share of the payout, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Lagos a share of net winnings, and Ghana nothing.

Where do the bonus comparator's figures come from?

Each brand's published promotion page for that country: match rate, cap, minimum deposit, rollover multiple, odds floor and time limit. The country pages print the same terms under every card, and the comparator sorts the results by bonus credited.

What is the difference between decimal, fractional and American odds?

Decimal odds show the total return per unit staked, so 2.50 returns 2.50 for 1. Fractional odds show profit to stake, so 6/4 returns 1.50 profit on 1. American odds show the profit on 100 for a positive number and the stake needed to win 100 for a negative one.

Why does a long accumulator show such a low implied chance?

Implied chance is 100 divided by the combined decimal odds. Six legs at 1.50 multiply to 11.39, and 100 divided by 11.39 is 8.8%. Each leg also carries the bookmaker's margin, so the real chance of the whole slip landing sits below the implied figure.

Which country rule applies near a border?

The rule follows the bookmaker's licence and the account. A Kenyan account at a GRA-licensed brand carries the 5% deductions wherever the slip is placed, and a Namibian account at an international brand carries none; the calculator's country selector mirrors that choice.

Do the calculators send my numbers anywhere?

No. They run in the browser, and the stake, odds and deposit you type stay on your device. The country rules and bonus terms are written into the page when it is built, which is why the tools keep working without a connection once the page has loaded.
